Privacy Policy

This describes what Notchi collects and why. If anything here is unclear, email us at notchipetapp@gmail.com and we'll answer directly.

What we collect

To create an account, we ask for a phone number and a password. The password is never stored in plain text — it's handled by our authentication provider (Supabase), which stores it hashed.

Once you have a pet, we store the data needed to run it: your pet's name, its stage, mood, streak, missed days, experience points, and the dates tied to those. This is stored under your account so it can sync back to you if you reinstall the app.

If you subscribe to Notchi Premium, the purchase itself is handled entirely by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether your account has an active subscription; RevenueCat receives your app-generated user ID and purchase/transaction data from Apple in order to do that. We do not receive or store your payment details — Apple never shares those with us.

What we don't do

We don't run ads, and we don't use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. We don't sell or share your data with data brokers. Notifications about your pet (mood changes, hatching, etc.) are generated and scheduled entirely on your device — we don't operate a push notification server, so we don't know when or whether you receive them.

Home screen widget

If you add the Notchi widget to your home screen, it reads a small snapshot of your pet's state that the app writes to a shared, on-device storage area (an iOS App Group). This data never leaves your device for the purpose of the widget.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and pet data for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Account Settings inside the app. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Children's privacy

Notchi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Notchi after a change means you accept the update.
